Munawar Faruqui is facing a new problem. Recently, the Mumbai Police detained him during a raid at a hookah bar in Mumbai. Six other people were also taken into custody by the police. This incident occurred on the night of Tuesday, March 26. However, Munawar Faruqui was later released after questioning. Shortly after, he posted pictures from the airport on his Instagram account.
The Social Services Branch of Mumbai Police raided Sablan Hookah Bar in Bora Bazaar following a tip-off. A police officer stated, ‘Our team received information that tobacco was being used there under the guise of hookah. If it’s proven that they used tobacco hookah, they’ll face charges under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act.’
The items recovered from the hookah bar during the raid are under investigation, according to the officer. The six other detainees and Munawar Faruqui were questioned and then released.

According to reports from ‘IndiaToday’, a case was filed against Munawar Faruqui under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 or COTPA, 2003. The raid on the hookah bar took place on Tuesday evening, with 13 others also detained.
Munawar Faruqui’s medical test was positive
Munawar was present at the hookah bar during the raid. Subsequently, his medical test was positive, and a case was registered. However, senior police officials stated that he was permitted to leave. Munawar Faruqui has not made any statements regarding this issue. However, he shared a picture from the airport on his Instagram Story, mentioning he was tired and traveling.
