The Great Indian Kapil show is back with its evergreen cast and hilarious comic entertainment. On September 21 it started its journey of season 2 with sizzling Bollywood star Alia Bhatt. She came to promote her new film, Jigra along with Vedang Raina, director Vasan Bala and Karan Johar. The laughter and stories made the event more entertaining.
The show started with a perfect comedy dose where Karan Johar and Kapil Sharma’s bags got exchanged. After a much gullible comic portion, they took their seat.
When Kapil talked about Karan’s appearance Karan Johar said that that day he had dressed up for his Ms. Briganza. Further Kapil emphasized the relationship between Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar and asked him how he looks at her. As a daughter, friend, or an aunt? Karan replied very affectionately, “I am Yash and Roohi’s father but the first time I had the paternal feeling was with Alia. We were in a vanity van, we were doing a photoshoot for Alia’s look test. She wasn’t sure if she was in the film or not. For the past 3 months, she had been working on herself and she hadn’t even eaten. After the shoot, Soni and I gave her cupcakes.”
Karan added, “I told her that you are in the film and I am directing it. Alia got so emotional and her first question was ‘Can I eat this’, that is when I had that feeling. It has been ever since that she has been my first daughter.”
Alia Bhatt, the new mom also shared some adorable stories of Raha’s relationship with her father Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia’s father, Mahesh Bhatt. She said, “The relationship of Raha and Ranbir is like one of the ages. There’s a friendship-like equation between them. He invents some random games with Raha. So, he’s very adventurous and creative. When you will see them together, you will see them together, you will find them endearing and cute.”
Soon after this conversation, Archana Puran Singh asked Alia Bhatt if Ranbir had changed the nappies, Alia Bhatt said, “He does. Now, he even sings a lullaby, which our nurse has been singing to Raha since infancy. It’s in Malayalam. So whenever Raha wants to sleep, she says, Mamma, vavo. Papa vavo. It’s her cue to go to sleep. Now Ranbir has learned to sing that Malayalam song.”
She also shared about the adorable relationship between Raha and Mahesh Bhatt. She explained there’s a gesture through which he plays with Raha. She mentioned that she feels like his father must have done the same thing with her in her childhood but she she must have forgotten it. She added, “When you see your parents with your child, you see your own childhood.”
Alia also disclosed how her mother also sings songs for Raha. She stated, ‘There’s a song that my mom used to sing for me while changing diapers, and now she sings it for Raha.”
Karan Johar is not left behind in this parenting conversation. He also shared fun facts and a sense of duty and tension as parents. He mentioned that his twin Yash and Roohi are confused about his profession. His make-up and costume trials at home made them wonder about his profession. He also shared that he is a part of two different WhatsApp groups of 60 mothers of his children’s classmates. He mentioned being in a constant feeling of unease and thought of making his children’s future brighter. Since his children like animals, he said that he has also started weaving stories around animals.
Karan also teased Vedang Raina about his rumored girlfriend Khushi Kapoor. Karan Johar revealed that though he is really fond of Alia Bhatt, he didn’t get a chance to romance her in this film since he is playing a brother to her. Kapil asked him if he was happy about the fact that he got a chance to act with Alia Bhatt or if there was any kind of disappointment for being a brother to Alia. Vedang Raina replied, “Nahi, Khushi hai obviously.” Karan Johar didn’t miss the point and highlighted his words, “Khushi hai” to tease him. This left him blushing.
Sunil Grover was also the highlight of the show. He performed really well dressing up as Shahrukh Khan. And being Dphli he also teased Alia that her first love which is Ranbir Kapoor left unfulfilled.
The first episode was really engaging and the bar is set high now. The comic relief is going to be the most engaging item in the audience. The Great Indian Kapil Show 2 is set to make another memorable journey.
