Pakistani social media influencer and actress Mathira has found herself at the center of a storm after an alleged private video surfaced online. The clip, showing her in a compromising position, quickly went viral, subjecting her to harsh trolling and public scrutiny.
Mathira’s Viral Video Sparks Outrage
Shortly after the video made headlines, Mathira issued a public clarification. She firmly stated that the videos were fake and generated using artificial intelligence (AI). Sharing her side of the story on Instagram on Saturday, November 23, Mathira described the ordeal as a severe instance of cyberbullying.
Actress Shares Her Side
In her Instagram post, Mathira revealed:
“Recently, I have been a victim of cyberbullying and AI-generated content that doesn’t belong to me. I was shamed, blamed, and treated as if I have no heart for fake news and AI-created videos that are not mine. I even have forensic reports to prove it but cannot share them as Instagram removes legal documents.”
She thanked her family, friends, and workplace for their unwavering support during this challenging time. “I am bold, but I know my boundaries,” she emphasized, calling out trolls for attacking her over fabricated content.
Mathira also highlighted the dangers of deepfake technology, stating, “AI and deepfake misuse can destroy people’s lives and mental health. I am lucky to have a strong backbone and support system, but not everyone is as fortunate.”
Cyberbullying and Deepfake Concerns
In response to the incident, Mathira took to X (formerly Twitter), writing:
“People are misusing my name and photoshoots by adding fake elements to them. Please have some shame! Keep me out of this nonsense.”
Not an Isolated Case
Mathira is not the first Pakistani TikToker to face such issues. Previously, influencers Imsha Rehman and Minahil Malik were also victims of private video leaks. The incidents forced both to deactivate their social media accounts to escape relentless trolling.
The exact method of the alleged video’s leak remains unclear, but Mathira’s case raises urgent concerns about the unchecked misuse of technology, the rise of cyberbullying, and its damaging impact on mental health.
