As Bigg Boss 18 approaches its much-anticipated finale, the journey of contestant Shrutika Arjun came to an end just a week before the grand event. Reflecting on her time in the house, Shrutika shared her thoughts, addressing controversies and speaking about her relationships with fellow contestants. She also opened up about personal struggles, misunderstandings, and her regrets.
Shrutika revealed that her decision to participate in Bigg Boss 18 was inspired by Salman Khan, whom she fondly referred to as “Sallu baby sir.” She described him as a gem of a person, expressing her admiration for his guidance throughout the show. However, her journey wasn’t without challenges.
One of the most shocking incidents for her was a comment made by Yamini Malhotra about her personal life. Yamini had discussed Shrutika’s strained relationship with her mother, her financial situation, and other sensitive matters. Shrutika said this remark came as a complete shock, and she found it deeply hurtful. She expressed that Yamini’s portrayal of her life was unacceptable and something she could not forgive. Although tempted to respond, Shrutika chose not to stoop to Yamini’s level.
Reflecting on her upbringing, Shrutika praised her mother for the sacrifices she made for their family. She shared that her mother had given up her career to care for her children and always pampered them despite being strict. Even now, Shrutika seeks her parents’ permission before making important decisions. She clarified that her family’s orthodox nature and her married status created distance, which is why they often meet in cafes rather than at home. She mentioned that like everyone she also wants to make her parents proud that’s why she provides for them. Shrutika expressed disappointment in Yamini for distorting this reality and turning it into a negative narrative.
Addressing accusations surrounding Digvijay Rathee’s eviction, Shrutika explained how their bond deteriorated after a minor argument. Although they had shared a good rapport initially, their relationship became strained over time. She recalled that during the elimination process, Digvijay accused her of betrayal and used harsh words, calling her a “ghatiya aurat.” Shrutika emphasized that her decision during the task was based on contestants’ contributions and was never intended to target Digvijay. When the task shifted to an elimination process, she felt cornered by circumstances.
Shrutika admitted regretting her decision not to use the special power she held during the task. She revealed that her trauma and confusion at the time clouded her judgment. Salman Khan later reassured her that Digvijay’s eviction wasn’t entirely her fault. Shrutika admitted that had her friends advised her differently, she might have swapped her decision to save him. Nonetheless, she took responsibility for her actions and acknowledged her mistake.
When asked if she could be friends with Digvijay outside the show, Shrutika expressed optimism. She mentioned “Of course because he is a very nice human being,” and understood his reluctance to form bonds during the show due to his past experiences. She even revealed that she had taken the initiative to follow him on Instagram as a step toward rebuilding their friendship.
Speaking about Chum Darang, Shrutika shared how emotionally attached she felt to her, especially since it was her first time living away from family. While she acknowledged, “I know Chum has multiple priorities though Chum was my priority.” Shrutika accepted this without resentment, believing friendship should be free of expectations.
Her bond with Karan Veer Mehra was described as playful and argumentative, likening it to a Tom and Jerry relationship. Despite their differing opinions, Shrutika appreciated Karan Veer’s ability to let go of grudges, which often helped them reconcile quickly.
Shrutika also commented on Vivian Dsena, Eisha Singh, and Avinash Mishra’s dynamic. She felt Vivian was deeply supportive of Eisha and Avinash. While she mentioned, “But I feel Eisha and Avinash are more for each other. For them, they are each other’s priority.” Shrutika noted that Vivian’s bond with them came from a genuine place.
When asked to describe her fellow contestants in one word, Shrutika offered a mix of playful and insightful responses. She called Karan Veer a perfect “Tom and Jerry” partner, Eisha someone who “lives in her dreamland,” Chum her “best friend,” Shilpa a “sweet knife” (referring to someone who appears nice but can hurt), Avinash a “bully,” Chaahat a “drama queen,” Rajat “humorously two-faced,” and Vivian a true “gentleman.”
Through all the ups and downs, Shrutika’s journey in Bigg Boss 18 was a blend of resilience, self-reflection, and emotional growth. Though her stint ended before the finale, her experiences and learnings from the show remain invaluable.
