Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni, who shocked everyone by taking Sanyas (renunciation), has once again made headlines. She has been at the center of multiple controversies, including opposition from saints over her appointment as the ‘Mahamandaleshwar’ of the Kinnar Akhara. Now, she has spoken openly about Baba Ramdev and Dhirendra Shastri.
Recently, Mamta Kulkarni appeared on India TV’s show Aap Ki Adalat, where she was questioned about these controversies. When asked about Baba Ramdev’s opposition, she responded, “What should I say to Baba Ramdev? He should fear Mahakal and Mahakali. I leave it up to them.”
However, her most striking remarks were directed at Dhirendra Shastri. She said, “That Nappy… Dhirendra Shastri. His age is 25 years, and I have meditated for that long. The deity he claims to have ‘established’ is Hanuman Ji. During my 23 years of meditation, I have lived with him twice in a divine form. I challenge him to ask his guru, Ram Bhadracharya, who has divine vision, about me. He should remain silent.”
Addressing allegations that she paid to become a Mahamandaleshwar, Kulkarni clarified, “I never wanted this position. Kinnar Akhara’s Acharya, Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi, forced me into it. I had no money—my accounts are frozen. I even had to borrow ₹2 lakh as guru dakshina.”
