Honey Singh’s Indore Concert Stopped: Popular singer and rapper Honey Singh found himself in trouble during his Indore concert as authorities intervened due to unpaid entertainment tax. The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) had issued a demand for ₹50 lakh in taxes before the event. However, the organizers managed to deposit only ₹7.75 lakh, leading to the concert being disrupted.
According to reports, the concert lasted only 1.5 hours, leaving fans disappointed as they expected a longer performance. As a result, IMC officials took action, seizing the sound system used for the event, valued at around ₹1 crore.
₹50 Lakh Tax Demand and Discrepancy in Ticket Sales
Officials stated that the total ticket sales amounted to ₹3.28 crore, which required a 10% entertainment and amusement tax payment. However, organizers claimed that only ₹80 lakh worth of tickets were sold, with many passes distributed as complimentary.
Indore’s Mayor-in-Council member Niranjan Singh Chauhan Guddu confirmed that the concert’s equipment was confiscated due to non-payment of tax. Meanwhile, authorities have demanded all relevant documents from the event organizers for further investigation.
Fans Express Discontent Over the Abrupt End
Honey Singh is currently touring India with his “Millionaire India Tour”, but this controversy has put his Indore concert in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. This incident comes shortly after similar issues faced by Diljit Dosanjh’s concert, sparking concerns over the management of live music events in India.
Disappointed fans, who had purchased tickets expecting a full-length show, voiced their frustration over the unexpected disruption. With the incident now under official review, the fate of future concerts remains uncertain.
