Salman Khan House Firing Case: Salman Khan, the famous Bollywood actor, had a close call on April 14, 2024, when gunshots were fired outside his home in Bandra. This incident caused a lot of fear and concern in the Indian film industry. As a result of the investigation that followed, several people were arrested. However, there was a surprising development in the case when one of the accused, Anuj Thapan, tragically died by suicide while in police custody.

On April 26, 2024, a 32-year-old guy named Anuj Thapan was taken into custody in Punjab. It is believed that he supplied the guns used in the shooting incident. Police records state that Sonu Subhash Chander, another accused, and Thapan were a part of the network that obtained the weapons.

On May 1, 2024, a few days after his arrest, Thapan is said to have made an attempt on his life while under police custody at a Mumbai lock-up. According to reports, he injured himself in the restrooms. Despite being hurried to a local hospital, the medical staff there declared him dead.

The information caused an uproar of anger and prompted important inquiries concerning the circumstances of Thapan’s death. Police insisted that Thapan was always being watched, with several officers placed close to the lock-up. However, his capacity to try suicide despite this supervision prompted questions about possible security flaws or unreported mental health conditions.

Investigation Launched into Thapan’s Death

A high-level investigation was started to look into the circumstances surrounding Thapan’s suicide attempt after the occurrence. After taking over, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Maharashtra Police questioned police officers who had been at the station when the incident occurred. The purpose of this investigation was to find out if there were any protocol violations or whether Thapan was given the right treatment while jailed.

The inquiry also attempted to determine the reason behind Thapan’s alleged suicide. Did he worry about his security? Were there deeper problems with mental health? At this point, police have not made public any information on a possible suicide note or any letters from Thapan that could provide insight into his mental state.
