In a surprising move, the team behind Kanguva chose Bobby Deol’s birthday to release the poster on X (formerly Twitter). The caption accompanying the poster describes Bobby’s character as “Ruthless, Powerful, Unforgettable.” The actor’s portrayal of #Udhiran in the film has already generated excitement among fans.
This marks Bobby Deol’s debut in Tamil cinema, and the poster showcases him in a ruthless and powerful avatar adorned with long, untidy hair and a bone necklace with blood marks. The actor is surrounded by a large crowd in the poster, maintaining a stern expression.
Bobby Deol had earlier shared insights into his challenging role in the Suriya-starrer, emphasizing that it pushes him beyond his comfort zone. Speaking to India Today in December 2023, he expressed, “This role is definitely out of my comfort zone, also I don’t know the language, so that is again totally out of my zone. I can’t even learn Tamil in a month or two, but I will work on it.” The actor shared his look on his Official Instagram handle with the same caption as written by the team.
Suriya, who is part of the film and shares the screen with Bobby Deol, extended warm birthday wishes to the actor on social media. Suriya highlighted Bobby’s transformation into the mighty #Udhiran and urged fans to watch out for his impressive performance in Kanguva.
The film, a Tamil period action drama directed by Siva, also features Disha Patani in lead roles. Last year, the film’s title was unveiled through an intriguing video featuring an eagle, a dog, and a masked warrior riding a horse against the backdrop of a dark night, followed by a massive army. A recent poster release showcased Suriya in two distinct looks, one as a warrior and the other as a modern-day character. However, the official release date of the film is yet to be announced. The movie is set to release in 10 languages.
