For those unfamiliar, Welcome to the Jungle is the third installment in the Welcome series, which began in 2007. In the original Welcome, Akshay Kumar played the lead role alongside Katrina Kaif, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Mallika Sherawat, and Feroz Khan. The film was a blockbuster, made on a budget of ₹32 crores and earning ₹118 crores at the box office. Its sequel, Welcome Back (2015), starred John Abraham instead of Akshay and grossed ₹168.76 crores. This film featured Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Shruti Haasan, Shiney Ahuja, Ankita Srivastava, Dimple Kapadia, Paresh Rawal, and Naseeruddin Shah.
