Deepfake videos have not left any corner of the internet untouched. Their wide circulation reaches every eye looking on the screen. In the same manner, the number of celebs who are victims of deepfakes is also rising. Now, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is facing an issue with a fake video circulating online where he appears to endorse a game application.
The video is generated using AI and shows Akshay Kumar promoting the game, which he has never done before. In the AI-generated deepfake video, Akshay Kumar says, “Do you like to play too? I advise you to download this application and try the aviator game. This is the popular slot all over the world that everyone plays here. We are not playing against the casino but against other players.”
Legal Action
As per reports from IANS, legal action is being taken against the source of the video for misusing his identity. Akshay Kumar is upset about this and has directed his team to address the matter legally.
Other Victims of Deepfake
Similar deepfake videos have affected other celebrities in the past, including Rashmika Mandanna, Taylor Swift, Nora Fatehi, Katrina Kaif, Kajol, and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
Akshay Kumar’s Upcoming Projects
Akshay Kumar is busy with upcoming projects such as Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, where he stars alongside Tiger Shroff. Other films in his pipeline include Sky Force, Singham Again, Housefull 5, Welcome To The Jungle, Hera Pheri 3, and Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat.
The actor has a music video titled Shambhu coming on the 5th of February. Akshay Kumar uploaded the promotional clip from the upcoming video today, Saturday. He captioned the post, ‘Jay Mahakal.’
