Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has once again found himself in the spotlight—not for a film this time, but due to another terrifying death threat. A 26-year-old man from Vadodara, Gujarat has been detained by the Worli Police for allegedly sending a life-threatening message via WhatsApp, claiming to plant a bomb in Salman Khan’s car.
Accused Identified as Mayank Pandya
The accused, identified as Mayank Pandya, reportedly sent a chilling WhatsApp message to the Mumbai Traffic Police’s helpline saying, “We will enter your house and kill you,” while also threatening to plant a bomb in the actor’s car. Following a swift investigation, the police tracked the phone number to Vadodara and detained Pandya for questioning. However, after preliminary interrogation and serving a notice, he was released.
WhatsApp Message Detected During Routine Review
According to police officials, the threatening message was sent early morning at 6:30 AM on April 13, but it came to light the next day during a routine review of the helpline’s inbox. While the message did not mention the notorious Bishnoi gang, its tone was similar to previous threats received by the actor.
An FIR has been filed under sections 351(2) and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), and further investigations are underway to determine the motive and connections of the accused.
Long History of Threats Against Salman Khan
This is not the first time Salman Khan has received threats. In 2023, he received two threatening emails, and his father Salim Khan was also targeted with a warning note during a morning walk. In April 2024, gang members from the Bishnoi group opened fire outside Salman’s residence. The Mumbai Crime Branch had arrested several individuals in that case.
Due to the rising threats, Salman Khan has been provided with Y+ category security, which includes a team of armed personnel and bulletproof vehicles.
Threats Continue Despite Security Measures
Even with these protections, Salman Khan continues to face security threats. In July 2024, a man attempted to breach his convoy on a motorcycle, and in November 2024, another WhatsApp message demanded ₹5 crore with warnings of “serious consequences” if not fulfilled. That case led to an arrest in Karnataka.
The police are now closely examining Pandya’s background, motives, and any possible gang affiliations.
On the Work Front: Salman Khan in Sikandar
Meanwhile, on the professional side, Salman Khan was last seen in the Eid 2025 release Sikandar opposite Rashmika Mandanna. The film received mixed reviews—while some hailed it as another blockbuster, others criticized it as one of Salman’s weakest performances.
