The Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise, a fan-favorite horror-comedy series, might bring back its original star Akshay Kumar in the upcoming Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4. Director Anees Bazmee recently gave a major update in an interview, hinting at Kumar’s possible return.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Bazmee said that while the franchise thrives on fresh storylines, Akshay Kumar’s involvement will depend on whether the script demands his role. “Friendship and love are on another level,” said Bazmee, adding, “If Akshay fits into the story of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4, I’ll be more than happy to bring him back.”
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Success and Audience Expectations
The previous installment, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, Madhuri Dixit, and Vidya Balan, emerged as a massive success. The film earned over ₹400 crore at the box office, proving that audiences adore the Rooh Baba character. However, many fans expressed missing the original Rooh Baba, Akshay Kumar, who set the tone for the franchise in Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007).
Box Office Clash Concerns
Director Anees Bazmee also spoke about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’s performance, acknowledging its box office potential. He shared that the film’s earnings could have doubled had it not clashed with Singham Again. “If both films were released solo, the business would have been much higher for each,” Bazmee noted.
