Currently, the box office is witnessing a fierce competition between three films: ‘Stree 2’, ‘Vedaa’, and ‘Khel Khel Mein’. However, it appears that there is no real contest, as Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s horror-comedy ‘Stree 2’ is dominating the theaters. The film’s craze among the audience is evident, with packed cinemas on the second day as well.
Meanwhile, the countdown seems to have begun for John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh’s ‘Vedaa’ and Akshay Kumar’s multi-starrer ‘Khel Khel Mein’. Both films are struggling to keep up with the storm created by ‘Stree 2’. Let’s take a closer look at the box office collections for the second day.
‘Stree 2’ Takes the Box Office by Storm
Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Stree 2’, which released on August 15, made a sensational debut at the box office, proving that it’s here to stay. According to Sacnilk’s report, the film opened with an impressive ₹51.8 crore on its first day. On the second day, it continued to perform exceptionally well, earning ₹30 crore. This brings the total box office collection for ‘Stree 2’ to ₹90.30 crore in just two days.
How Did ‘Vedaa’ Perform on the Second Day?
John Abraham, Sharvari Wagh, and Tamannaah Bhatia’s ‘Vedaa’ surprised many on its second day, though not in a good way. The film’s collection has been disappointing. According to Sacnilk, ‘Vedaa’ managed to earn only ₹1.60 crore on the second day. With a first-day collection of ₹6.3 crore, the total now stands at ₹7.90 crore.
‘Khel Khel Mein’ Also Struggles to Impress
Akshay Kumar’s multi-starrer ‘Khel Khel Mein’ also underperformed on its second day. According to Sacnilk, the film earned just ₹1.90 crore by 8 PM on the second day. With a first-day collection of ₹5.05 crore, the total for ‘Khel Khel Mein’ now stands at ₹6.95 crore. This places Akshay Kumar’s film behind both ‘Stree 2’ and ‘Vedaa’ in terms of box office earnings.
