Slumdog Millionaire actor Dev Patel, known for his roles in Hollywood, is set to make his directorial debut with the film Monkey Man. Recently, the movie was featured at the South By Southwest Film Festival, where Dev received a standing ovation. The teary moment is now going viral on the internet.
In the viral video making rounds on Twitter, Dev is seen on stage, visibly moved and teary-eyed, expressing gratitude to the audience while the end credits roll in the background.
Shobhita Dhulipala’s Hollywood Debut with Dev Patel’s Directorial
The Hollywood film to be released on 5th April, Monkey Man released its trailer a month ago. Popular bollywood express Sobhita Dhulipala, known for her roles in webshow The Night Manager and Made In Heaven, is making her Hollywood debut alongside Dev Patel in the movie. The film also stars Makrand Deshpande, Sikandar Kher, Sharlto Copley, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma and Aditi Kalkunte.
The Trailer of Monkey Man
The trailer for Monkey Man is set in India and draws inspiration from Lord Hanuman’s story. The trailer portrays Dev Patel’s character in an underground fight club, where renowned fighters beat him for money while he wears a gorilla mask.
It includes glimpses of Dev’s childhood with his mother and unfolds his traumatic childhood, depicting the challenges he faces in life. As he grows, the story unfolds, the film showcases the character played by Dev trying to seek revenge for his childhood losses made by enemies.
