Clips of Dhanush filming his upcoming movie with director Shekar Kammula in Tirupati surfaced on X and Instagram. The actor appears quite different, sporting a thick beard and wearing worn-out clothes in the videos. The ragged look carried by the actor is for the ongoing shooting of the film, which yet has no title. Also, the storyline of the film has been kept a secret. However, the shooting reportedly upset some devotees, as mentioned in a report by NTV.
On Tuesday, Dhanush was filming the movie near Alipiri ghat. Police and security personnel were redirecting vehicles meant for the temple, causing a significant traffic jam. According to NTV, devotees asked the police why they allowed the film crew to shoot and disrupt the temple-bound traffic. The police reportedly halted the film shoot after receiving a complaint.
Despite some issues during filming, a source from the movie team clarified to Hindustan Times that the shoot was completed as planned, denying rumours of a shortened schedule due to police interference.
On Wednesday, Dhanush visited Tirumala for Lord Venkateshwara’s darshan. Dressed in traditional attire, he greeted fans and reporters after the visit. Temple authorities and security escorted him out while fans sought selfies. The Tirupati schedule concluded, and it’s yet to be revealed where the filmmakers will shoot next.
The movie, dubbed #DNS after the initial letters of Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Sekhar’s names, is rumoured to have a mafia storyline. Featuring Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh alongside, this film marks Dhanush’s Telugu debut and will also be released in Tamil, his native language. The music for the film will be composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
