South superstar Allu Arjun has been making headlines due to his highly anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule. However, his recent arrest after the film’s Hyderabad premiere has sparked widespread debate. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has now made a bold statement regarding the real reason behind Allu Arjun’s arrest.

Why Was Allu Arjun Arrested?

The incident occurred on December 4th at the Pushpa 2 premiere in Hyderabad, where a tragic stampede resulted in the death of a woman and left her child injured. Allu Arjun was arrested for the incident but was later granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court on December 14th.

Ram Gopal Varma’s Explosive Statement

Taking to social media platform X, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma questioned Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s role in the arrest. He wrote, “Why did Telangana CM Revanth Reddy do this to Allu Arjun? Everyone is shocked. I believe it was done to give the state’s favorite son a massive publicity boost, ensuring Pushpa 2’s second-week collections soar.”

Ram Gopal Varma further alleged that the weak prosecution against the actor was intentional, making it easier for Allu Arjun to secure bail and continue benefiting from the publicity.

Thanking the CM for “Boosting” Pushpa 2

In a sarcastic tone, Ram Gopal Varma added, “Thank you, Revanth Reddy Garu, for keeping Telangana’s prestige as high as Pushpa 2’s super collections.”

Pushpa 2’s Box Office Success

Amid the controversy, Pushpa 2: The Rule has shattered box office records. By December 14th, the film earned a staggering ₹62.3 crore on a single day, pushing its total collection to ₹824.5 crore. The movie has already surpassed major releases like Stree 2 and Kalki 2898 AD, becoming India’s highest-grossing film in its first week.
