On 1st October, at 4:45 am, veteran actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda (60) was about to leave his residence when the accident took place. He mistakenly shot himself in the leg while cleaning his revolver, early on Tuesday. He is now hospitalized in Mumbai but out of danger.
Tuesday, early morning, Govinda was alone at his home when misfire took place. He was cleaning his revolver. According to Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha, the actor was about to leave for Kolkata. The accident happened when Govinda kept his licensed revolver in the case.
Thereafter, He was rushed to the Citi Care hospital in Mumbai. His manager also informed ANI that the actor’s condition is not serious. He was taken to the hospital only as a precautionary measure. The manager also confirmed that the doctors have removed the bullet and the actor is keeping fine for now.
Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha told ANI, “Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was getting ready to leave for Kolkata. He was keeping his licensed revolver in the case when it fell from his hand and a bullet got fired which hit his leg.
The doctor has removed the bullet and his condition is fine. He is in the hospital right now.” The manager also added, “It is due to God’s grace that Govinda Ji sustained only a leg injury and it was nothing serious.”
Doctors claim that despite losing a lot of blood, he is out of danger and under treatment. Mumbai police has launched an investigation to understand the circumstances that led to the incident.
Earlier this year in March, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Govinda joined the Shiv Sena in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Govinda has starred in popular films like ‘Coolie No. 1’, ‘Haseena Maan Jaayegi’, ‘Raja Babu’, ‘Partner’ and more.
