His renouncement from the industry was speculated to be his failure on screen by many, but finally, the actor broke his silence and addressed the rumors.

In an exclusive interview with Vogue India Imran Khan spoke about his personal life and the struggle he faced. The real problem he was going through while being away from the screen. Also which is the major reason behind suspending his acting career.

I Couldn’t Invest Energy in Socialising for the Films, Imran Khan

The actor addressed the rumors cum speculations about his continuous failed films, Katti Batti being the final blow, throwing him out of the industry. On that aspect, Vogue India quoted Imran Khan, “I simply couldn’t be bothered to invest the time, energy and effort required to stay in this profession. I couldn’t bring myself to go to parties and socialize with people in the hope that someone would offer me a film”.

The actor further confessed that he had to spare time for his healing process as the damage was internal, “I felt damaged on the inside and I wanted to fix that. If you pull a hamstring, you go to the physiotherapist. You don’t feel good mentally? Seek therapy.

Importance of Therapy According to the Actor

Imran opened up about his struggles with mental health for the past seven years in the interview with Vogue India. Imran emphasized the importance of seeking therapy, comparing it to addressing physical health issues. He has been seeing a therapist four times a week for the past seven years, considering it a pivotal decision in his life.

The actor was quoted saying, “This was one of those defining decisions of my life. If you speak to someone who has given up an addiction or gone off alcohol, they could tell you the exact number of days they’ve been sober. It’s the same for me with my mental health. It’s been 2,500 days since I started my analysis on March 13, 2017.”

Imran Khan decided to step back from Bollywood in 2015, citing emotional struggles rather than box office failures. Feeling broken inside, he chose to prioritize his mental well-being over the demands of the industry. His last film was Katti Batti opposite to kangana Ranaut.
