John Abraham's action thriller Veda faces delays in its release scheduled for August 15

Produced by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment, and JA Entertainment, the John Abraham and Sharvari-starrer “Vedaa” is set to hit theaters on August 15, 2024. However, the filmmakers have yet to receive a green signal from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for the film’s release. The makers believe that the CBFC has unnecessarily delayed the certification of the action thriller “Vedaa” In light of this, the makers have issued a statement regarding the release issues of “Vedaa”

John Abraham’s Vedaa Faces Release Troubles

In a statement released today, the producers, Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment, and JA Entertainment, expressed their frustration and disappointment over the ongoing delay. Despite submitting the film for certification well before the prescribed eight-week period, the producers claim to have encountered unexpected obstacles.

“Vedaa” was initially screened by the CBFC on June 25, after which it was unexpectedly forwarded to a revision committee without any clear explanation for the initial examining committee’s concerns. Since then, the producers have been tirelessly seeking clarity and timely certification, but to no avail. The statement read, “We, the producers of ‘Vedaa,’ want to inform our fans and supporters that despite our numerous efforts, we have not yet received approval and certification from the CBFC.”

The statement further mentioned, “Following protocol, we applied for certification well before the scheduled eight-week period for release. Our film was screened for the CBFC on June 25. After this, we were forwarded for review by the revision committee without any explanation of the concerns or objections of the esteemed examining committee. Since then, we have patiently waited for the formation of a revision committee, appealed to all respected and honorable officials, and documented our appeals daily for certification, consideration, or even explanation. Despite this unusual delay, we have full faith in the existing system and believe that the CBFC will oblige us correctly.”

The filmmakers have made several appeals to the CBFC for a resolution, including detailed documentation of their efforts. The film was slated for release on August 15, a date of particular significance to the team, as their previous films “Satyameva Jayate” and “Batla House” were released on the same day.

The producers hope that the film will eventually get the green light from the CBFC, allowing them to meet their targeted release date. “It is our heartfelt request and desire that these words reach those who can help resolve and overcome this deadlock and certify our film. August 15 is a special date, and we feel fortunate to be in a position to bring our film to fans of John Abraham and Nikkhil Advani, who supported our previous releases, ‘Satyameva Jayate’ and ‘Batla House,’ on the same date.”
