John Cena Arrived Without Clothes at the Oscars 2024 for This Reason, Big Reason Revealed

Oscars 2024: The event has garnered attention for a variety of reasons, one of which involves John Cena making an unconventional entrance onto the Oscar stage. During the announcement of the Best Costume Design category by host Jimmy Kimmel, Cena was called upon to present the award. Instead of traditional attire, Cena made a playful entrance, initially peeping from behind the stage before revealing himself without clothes, discreetly covering his private parts with an envelope bearing the winner’s name.

Upon reaching the stage, Cena humorously remarked, “Costumes are very important, maybe the most important.”

Subsequently, Cena wrapped himself in a curtain and proceeded to announce the winner of the Best Costume award, which was bestowed upon Yorgis Lanthimos’ film ‘Poor Things’.

Why did John Cena arrive without clothes?

The reason behind John Cena’s unconventional attire harked back to an incident at the Oscars fifty years prior. In 1974, host David Niven was speaking about the British American actress Elizabeth Taylor when a streaker ran past him without any clothes on. In homage to this historical event, Cena recreated a similar act, albeit with his modesty discreetly covered by a skin-colored sheet, though images of him quickly went viral on social media.

In addition to ‘Poor Things’ receiving the Best Costume Design award, the film also secured victories in three other categories: Best Hair and Makeup Styling, Production Design, and Emma Stone earned the Best Actress Oscar for her role in the same film.

The film ‘Oppenheimer‘, directed by Christopher Nolan, emerged as the night’s big winner, securing a total of seven awards. Cillian Murphy was honored with the Best Actor award, Christopher Nolan received Best Director, and Robert Downey Jr. was awarded Best Supporting Actor for their contributions to the film.

Furthermore, ‘The Zone of Interest’ clinched the Best International Feature Film award, adding to the diverse array of cinematic achievements celebrated at the Oscars 2024.
