“If We Can Get Our Heads Cut, We Can Cut Too”

In the viral video, you can see that Kangana is being openly threatened because of her upcoming film ‘Emergency.’ In the video, some members of the Sikh community are seen sitting and saying, “If you release this film, Sardars will only beat you with slippers. You have already been slapped before. I trust my country. I am a proud Sikh and also a proud Marathi. I know that if the film releases, not just Sikhs, but also Marathis, Christians, and Hindus will only beat you with slippers.”

Public Death Threats to the Actress

The video further states, “If we can get our heads cut off, we can cut heads too. We are not afraid.” This threatening message to Kangana has been tweeted by a user named Rahul Chauhan and is spreading quickly on social media. The caption with the video asks, “What is happening in our country? BJP MPs and Bollywood actresses are being openly threatened. The film only depicts historical events. Is it wrong to bring the story of the Iron Lady to the screen?”

Kangana Ranaut’s Reaction

As the video went viral, Kangana Ranaut reacted by resharing it, writing, “Please take a look at this.” She tagged the DGP of Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh Police, and Punjab Police India in her post.

Opposition to ‘Emergency’

It’s worth noting that Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film ‘Emergency’ has been facing opposition for quite some time. Members of the Sikh community claim that the film is propaganda, alleging that it portrays historical events inaccurately and disrespectfully towards martyrs. They also believe that the character of Sikh leader Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale is shown in a negative light. Because of these reasons, there have been continuous demands for the film to be banned.
