Karan Johar Criticizes Comedian Kettan Singh: The popular Indian director Karan Johar recently expressed his disappointment on Instagram about comedian Kettan Singh’s mimicry of him. Karan thought Kettan’s mimicry was “exceptionally poor taste” and said it made him feel sad.

Speaking more, he expressed his feelings about the mimicry by stating, I expect this from trolls and faceless and nameless people, but when your own industry can disrespect someone.” Karan did not go into detail about Kettan’s mimicry, but his words seemed disrespectful to the point of being insulting.

Kettan Singh Offers Apology After Karan Johar’s Instagram Story

In response to Karan’s Instagram story, Kettan apologized in public. Talking favourably of Karan, Kettan said, “I am a huge admirer of your work, sir, and never meant any disrespect.” He went on to say that he hadn’t watched the entire show with the mimicry; therefore, he wanted to wait to apologize in more detail until he knew how the audience would respond.

“I am extremely sorry if I have caused you or anyone else any sadness,” says Kettan in his apology. I apologize, and I realize where you’re coming from. I hadn’t seen the full episode, so I wasn’t sure how to respond to the audience before I extended my apology. However, after a while, I should apologize.”

Humour vs. Respect

A common feature of entertainment for a long time has been comedic mimicry, which frequently functions as a lighthearted method to make fun of popular personalities. But sometimes it’s difficult to tell the difference between disrespect and comedy. Karan thought that Kettan’s mimicry went over the top in this particular case.
