Nimrat Kaur is celebrating her 42nd birthday today, born on March 13, 1982, in Pilani, Rajasthan. Her life has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs. Coming from a Punjabi family in Rajasthan, Nimrat’s father, Major Bhupinder Singh, served in the Indian Army and was martyred in an encounter with Kashmiri terrorists. After this tragedy, her family moved to Noida, where Nimrat attended a public school in Delhi. She later pursued B.Com from Delhi University before venturing to Mumbai to chase her dreams in the film industry. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Nimrat shared the hardships of her struggling days, recalling how she distributed her portfolio to around 100 agencies, often travelling by bus and train due to financial constraints.

Money was scarce, even for basic expenses like cab fares. Nimrat mentioned the challenge of communicating with her family due to the high costs of mobile calls, often spending hours at a PCO booth, tearfully speaking to her mother.
