On March 8, 2024, PM Narendra Modi gave out the first ‘National Creators Award’ in Delhi to acknowledge and celebrate the work of creators in India. A video of a fun banter between a creator from Bihar and the Prime Minister is going on Viral on social media.

Among the awardees was Maithili Thakur, a singer from Bihar. She was recognized as the Cultural Ambassador of the Year. Now a video from the event is going viral where the Prime Minister can be seen joking with Maithili “Selfie ke Bina nii chalta” (one can not do without a selfie) when the creator requests for a selfie.

Who is Maithili Thakur?

Maithili Thakur is trained in Indian classical and folk music. She received the prestigious honor of Cultural Ambassador of the Year. After being honored with the award by Prime Minister, Maithili Thakur sang the sweet song “Dimik Dimik Damru,” at the request of PM Narendra Modi.

Before stepping down from the stage, Maithili Thakur asked PM Narendra Modi for a selfie, and a video of this moment is spreading widely on social media. When Maithili requested for selfie, PM responded, “selfie ke bina nhi chalata” (Nowadays one cannot do without selfies). While taking a selfie, Maithili said, “I met you, thank you very much”.
