Highway fame actor Randeep Hooda has embarked on his directorial journey with his upcoming Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, a film based on V D Savarkar. The film has gained attention and invited a lot of controversy, but finally, the film has a release date, i.e., 22 March 2024. Fans are eagerly waiting for the movie to hit theatres. The movie will be released in Hindi and Marathi language.
The teaser of the film was released last year on the 28th of May, 2023. It received warmth from fans. The response from fans was huge, and the actor received love from his viewers. Also, the film faced backlash and experienced political criticism.
The news about the film’s release date was shared by the actor and director Randeep Hooda. The clip posted by the actor contained visuals of V D Savarkar and a question asking if he was a traitor or a hero. He captioned the post, “Two heroes of Indian Independence Struggle, one celebrated and one removed from history on #Martyrs Day2024, history will be rewritten.”
Talking about the date of the release of the film which is 22nd March. Officially, this date is celebrated as Martyrs Day in India. The actor also used hashtag in the post #Whokilled hisStory, meaning who killed his(VD Savarkar) story.

This challenging journey inspired me to grow as an actor, become a director, and more. It’s time for the country to learn about the armed revolutionary Veer Savarkar and his sacrifice in our fight for freedom”.
The movie Swatantrya Veer Savarkar brings back the inspiring tale of the forgotten hero, Veer Savarkar, a key figure in India’s fight for independence. Randeep Hooda’s directorial debut beautifully portrays Savarkar’s visionary role and sheds light on his untold story and the sacrifices made for India’s freedom.
The film’s lead cast includes Ankita Lokhande alongside Randeep Hooda and Amit Sial. It was directed and produced by Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Randeep Hooda, Sandeep Singh, and Yogesh Rahar. Co-produced by Roopa Pandit, Sam Khan, Anwar Ali, and Panchali Chakraborty.
