In Varanasi, on Sunday night at Namo Ghat, Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon showcased their charm on the ramp.
Ranveer Singh wore a brown-coloured Banarasi brocade, while Kriti Sanon wore a maroon-coloured ghagra choli. It took the designers more than six months to prepare these dresses. Apart from these two stars, more than 250 dresses were prepared for the ramp walk.
During this time, people got to see an extensive Banarasi collection, and their eyes sparkled after seeing designer Manish Malhotra’s Banarasi collection.
On the final day of the two-day program ‘Dharohar Kashi Ki’ by the Indian Minority Foundation (IMF), political dignitaries and diplomats from 20 countries, famous fashion designers, Bollywood personalities, and leaders of weaving communities participated.
During the show, designer Manish Malhotra announced the adoption of 22 weavers from Kashi. He said they would especially dedicate global stores for the Banarasi Handloom Collection.
During the program, 40 weavers, including two Padma Shri awardees, who have done exceptional work for the promotion and preservation of Banarasi craftsmanship, were honoured by the Indian Minority Foundation (IMF).
