Loverboy Shahid Kapoor and Robo Kriti Sanon’s romantic comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya hit theatres today, 9th February. The movie has similarity with Bahu Hamari Rajnikanth a television show which was very popular and recieved a lot of love from fans. The Rom-com family drama has served us with an old concept of Bollywood with only a twist of Kriti’s robot character, Sifra. The amazing musical love story in the era of automation has failed to bring Innovation to the plate.
In this film, Aryan (played by Shahid Kapoor) and his friend Monty (Ashish Verma) chat about robotics in a fancy office until Aryan meets Sifra in the USA, under the watchful eye of his super-creator aunt (Dimple Kapadia). The story unfolds with Aryan, who’s wary of marriage, getting involved with Sifra, a stunning female robot. Despite the potential for deep themes about human-robot relationships, the film takes a comedic turn, delving into traditional family gatherings and ceremonies.
While trying to be a family-friendly movie, the film includes conventional wife jokes and scenes of a typical Indian family set-up. The protagonist’s best friend, Monty, follows the usual script of making the hero look good. Shahid Kapoor shines in moments where he drops his hero persona, but the movie struggles with its identity, jumping between genres like romantic comedy, horror, and more.
Missing Wow Factor
Movie critique Taran Adarsh gives the movie 2 star rating. And considers it disappointing, poorly written. Missing ‘Wow factor’
