The 2024 Women’s Premier League, sponsored by TATA, is the the second season of the Women’s Premier League. It is a women’s franchise 20-20 cricket league organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The Tournament started yesterday, 23 February 2024, with the Grand performance of Shahrukh Khan, and it will end on 17 March 2024.
The second edition of the Women’s Premier League started in the presence of Bollywood celebrities like Shahrukh Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Kartik Aryan, Varun Dhawan, Shahid Kapoor, and many others. The crowd of Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru) got the taste of Bollywood and Cricket together.
Shahrukh Khan’s Look from the Event
The event was graced with the moves of King Khan of Bollywood. Shahrukh looked smoking hot in all-black attire with golden buttons on the shoulders and front. His long hair from the last movie, Pathaan, gave a dapper vibe. The black belt he styled was heavenly and decorated with stars and starfish.
Danced on Songs from Pathaan and Jawaan
Shahrukh Khan Blasted his performance in his aura with “Agar party Pathaan ke ghar pe rakhoge, toh mehmaan nawazi ke liye Pathaan toh ayega hi. Nachega, Nachaayga aur Jhoomega (If your party is at Pathaan’s house, then, of course, he will be there to welcome the guests. He will dance and make you dance)!”
After that, Shah Rukh performed on Jhoome Jo Pathaan from Pathaan and Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya from Jawan, with several dancers on stage. Shah Rukh’s mindblowing performance was appreciated by the loud cheers of the crowd.
Shahrukh Khan Signature Style With Captions
After the Starry show, the action-packed opening stage was taken by the real stars of this event, who are cricketers and captains of all five teams. Shahrukh Khan welcomed all Captains on the stage with his signature step from DDLJ. The five captains were Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Harmanpreet Kaur (Mumbai Indians), Meg Lanning (Delhi Capitals), Beth Mooney (Gujarat Giants), Alyssa Healy (UP Warriorz).
The first day of WPL saw the Grand opening, and later, the match between Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals was held on this day. Yastika Bhatia and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur powered Mumbai Indians in the 172-run chase, and the defending champions successfully won the first match of WPL 2024.
Shahrukh Khan on the Work Front
The actor ended last year with three hits: Pathaan, Jawaan, and Dunki. They earned him billions at the box office. And it was a blast year for the actor. But the year 2024 for SRK fans seems disappointing as the actor has no movie scheduled as such for the year. Though he will play a cameo for daughter Suhana Khan’s next. Shahrukh also has Pathaan 2 planned for 2026, Deepika Padukone will be part of the film like the prequel.
