Soha Ali Khan Faces Online Hate for Interfaith Marriage and Not Having a Son, Says ‘It Doesn’t Affect Me’

Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan, known for films like Rang De Basanti and Dil Maange More, has recently opened up about the online trolling she faces — even today — for marrying Hindu actor Kunal Khemu and for not having a son. In a candid interview, she revealed the emotional impact of constant judgment and how she’s chosen to rise above it.

Soha, the daughter of legendary actress Sharmila Tagore and cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, and sister of actor Saif Ali Khan, married Kunal Khemu on January 25, 2015, in a private ceremony. The couple shares a beautiful daughter, Inaaya Naumi Khemu, born on September 29, 2017.

In the interview, Soha shared, “People troll me for marrying Kunal and for not having a son. But these were personal choices. I am very happy being a mother to Inaaya and living a fulfilling life with my husband.”

Despite the criticism, Soha maintains her composure and doesn’t let negativity affect her. She recalled being targeted during festivals as well, saying, “When I post on Diwali, people ask how many Rozas I kept. On Holi, I get asked what kind of Muslim I am. These comments don’t hurt me, but I do notice them.”

Soha further emphasized that while she observes the negativity, she doesn’t let it rule her emotions. “People find joy in saying hurtful things to others,” she added.

Though her acting career didn’t reach the heights of some of her peers, Soha is currently making headlines for her upcoming film Chhorii 2, marking her return to the silver screen after a long break.

Through it all, Soha stands strong — proud of her decisions, her family, and the life she has built, proving that inner peace comes from self-acceptance, not social approval.
