South Indian Stars Denounce CAA One Labels March 12 'Dark Day'; Other Refuses Implementation in Tamil Nadu

The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was implemented by the Narendra Modi government across the entire country. While many are celebrating the passage of this bill, there is significant opposition to it. Opposition parties are outright rejecting the bill, and some celebrities who are active in both politics and films are also speaking out against it. Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan recently expressed his disapproval of the bill, strongly criticizing it.

Kamal Haasan referred to March 12 as a black day in response to the official notification of the implementation of CAA. He took to his official Twitter account, stating, “A dark day for India. Religion-based citizenship tests are contrary to the secular constitutional foundation of the Republic, and I will fight against it with all my might, legally and politically.” Haasan plans to intensify his opposition to the bill and has resolved to engage in a legal battle against it.

Additionally, another Tamil star, Thalapathy Vijay, has also voiced his opposition to the CAA. Vijay expressed his disapproval in a statement on his Instagram account, saying, “In an environment where all citizens of the country live in social harmony, the implementation of any law like the Indian Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 (CAA) is not acceptable.” He appealed to the Tamil Nadu state government not to implement it under any circumstances, sparking a flood of comments on his post.

Regarding their film projects, Vijay, who is increasingly active in politics, will eventually retire from films after completing a few more projects. His recent film “Leo” was a super hit at the box office, and he is set to make waves with his next film, “The Greatest of All Time,” an action thriller whose poster has recently been revealed. On the other hand, Kamal Haasan is involved in several projects, including “Indian 2,” “Kalki 2898 AD,” “Thug Life,” and “KH233.”

The question arises that the opposition of Muslims regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is understandable, but why are some Hindus opposing it? This may arise from different viewpoints or concerns about the implications of the CAA. Now, this can only mean two things: either he is anti-Hindu, or he/she does not have complete information about CAA.
