Vijay thalapaty joins politics officially

On February 2, Vijay Thalapaty, a popular actor in Tamil cinema, decided to enter politics by creating a new political party called Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam following a general body meeting. The actor stated that his party will participate in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections but won’t be involved in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, and it won’t support any other political party.

Last Friday, 02 February, Vijay finally officially announced his entry into politics in Tamil Nadu. Speculations about his political involvement had been circulating on social media for a while. The rumours gained traction after he met with Class 10 and 12 students and provided assistance to those affected by the recent floods. He shared the news with his fans through a social media post on his Official Instagram handle. The megastar aims to stand against corruption and divisive politics.

Vijay announced the party name, ideologies and his exit from cinema through the post. It was basically a statement in Tamil that read, “In my view, politics isn’t just a regular job; it holds a sacred significance for me. It’s not merely about reaching political heights; I’ve realized the importance of learning the nuances of politics from those who came before me. Mentally, I am preparing myself for this endeavour. Politics isn’t just a hobby for me; it’s a profound aspiration. I aim to immerse myself entirely in it. Therefore, I will fulfill my commitment to complete one more film before transitioning into a full-fledged politician. This is my way of repaying my debts to the people of Tamil Nadu.”

Announces to Quit Acting

Vijay wrote in the same official statement that he plans to step away from acting after finishing two films, namely ‘GOAT’ and an untitled project, to fully commit to his political career in Tamil Nadu, in the statement.

Upcoming cum Last Project

Thalapathy Vijay’s last appearance was in Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Currently, he is filming Greatest of All Time (GOAT) under the direction of Venkat Prabhu. This high-budget entertainer is scheduled to hit theatres later this year.

Vijay shared that Thalapathy 69 will mark his final role as an actor. He has already committed to a movie with a well-known production company. Even with Vijay stepping into politics, fans are excited to learn about the director of Thalapathy 69 and are curious to see whom the beloved actor has chosen for his last film.
