Akshay Kumar’s presence in Ajay Devgn’s project was announced recently, marking their seventh collaboration after hits like ‘Suhaag’ (1994), ‘Khakee’ (2004), ‘Insan’ (2005), ‘Simmba (2018), ‘Sooryavanshi’ (2021), ‘Singham Again.’ Ajay Devgn’s directorial film is a two-hero action comedy, Ajay Devgn is keen to cast Vicky Kaushal as the parallel lead.
According to Mid-Day, Ajay Devgn is reportedly impressed with Vicky Kaushal’s dedication toward his craft and is considering him for a pivotal role in the film. A source told, “Ajay likes the actor’s dedicated approach to work.
Since the entertainer sees the two lead characters playing off each other, Ajay felt it would be novel to team up Akshay and Vicky. Meanwhile, Akshay loved the story, as it sees him doing not only action, but also comedy – a genre he excels at.” The source added, “Ajay is currently shooting for Son of Sardaar 2, after which he has De De Pyaar De 2, Ranger, and Indra Kumar’s Dhamaal 4.”
Speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2024, Ajay Devgn spoke about his upcoming directorial venture. He said they plan to reveal more details about this project later. He said, “Already, we have a project in the works where Akshay stars and I serve as director. We will discuss it later; it is still a bit premature.”
The first draft of Devgn’s film is reportedly ready, which means the project is still in its nascent stage. The insider hinted that thanks to Ajay Devgn’s meticulous planning, the film should be up and running by September or October next year. But till then, Akshay Kumar’s calendar is packed.
