Veteran actor and politician Jaya Bachchan has been nominated by the Samajwadi Party (SP) for her fifth consecutive term in the Rajya Sabha. The actress-turned-politician submitted an election affidavit on Thursday, disclosing her and her husband Amitabh Bachchan’s personal assets for the financial year 2022-23.
According to the details shared by the Member of Parliament Jaya Bachchan, she, along with her husband Amitabh Bachchan, has a net worth of Rs 1,578 crores.
Combined Bank Balance of Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan:
Jaya Bachchan revealed her personal net worth for the financial year 2022-23 as Rs 1.63 crore. In the same period, Amitabh Bachchan’s total assets were reported to be Rs 273.74 crore. The affidavit stated Jaya’s bank balance as Rs 10.11 crore and Amitabh’s as Rs 120.45 crore. Their combined movable assets are valued at Rs 849.11 crore, with immovable assets worth Rs 729.77 crore.

Senior Bachchan Owns Way More Jewelry and Vehicles
As per the election affidavit, Jaya possesses jewelry valued at Rs 40.97 crore and a car worth Rs 9.82 lakh. Surprisingly, Amitabh’s jewelry is worth more than Jaya’s, which is Rs 54.77 crore. Also, the actor owns 16 cars valued at Rs 17.66 crore, including two Mercedes and a Range Rover.
BigB Generates Revenue from Solar Plants
The election affidavit outlines diverse sources contributing to their joint assets. Jaya’s income sources include earnings from advertisements, her MP salary, and fees as an actress. Amitabh’s income streams encompass interest, rent, dividends, capital gains, and revenue from solar plants, along with professional fees as an actor.
The Bachchan Couple on the Professional Front
Jaya Bachchan was last seen in the Karan Johar-directed film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. She played the Mother of Rocky Randhawa, the lead character played by Ranbir Singh.
Amitabh Bachchan’s latest appearance was in the Tiger Shroff-starrer Ganapath. He recently concluded the popular reality TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
