Devoleena Bhattacharjee, who is set to begin her film career with ‘Bengal 1947’, shared, ‘There were many reasons I couldn’t refuse this role. Through this film, I reunited with director Akashaditya Lama, with whom I collaborated in his play ‘Mohenjodaro’ early in my career. Additionally, my Bengali and Assamese heritage inspired a deep connection with the film’s themes.

Discussing the film, Devoleena Bhattacharjee said, ‘The film promises to be a visual masterpiece, exploring the enduring power of love amidst the horrific chaos of Partition. While audiences have seen love stories and historical dramas based on Partition before, this film offers a completely different experience. ‘Bengal 1947’ will not only entertain but also provoke deeper thought on this subject.

Star Cast of the Film ‘Bengal 1947’

The film is set to release in theaters on March 29. The musical score is composed by Abhishek Ray. Alongside Devoleena, the film features Sohela Kapoor, Omkar Das Manikpuri, Aditya Lakhia, Anil Rastogi, Pramod Pawar, Ankur Armam, Surbhi Srivastava, Falak Rahi, Vikram TDR, and Atul Gangwar. ‘Bengal 1947: An Untold Love Story’ is a collaboration between Comfed Productions Private Limited and Think Tank Global, led by producers Satish Pandey, Akashaditya Lama, and Rishabh Pandey.
