TV actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee popular for her role of Gopi Bahu, has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and the Indian Embassy to assist in bringing back the body of her friend, Amarnath Ghosh, who was reportedly shot dead in St Louis, US. She seeks help in repatriating his remains.
The Sath Nibhana Sathiya actress Devoleena took to X formerly Twitter and tweeted about the situation yesterday, March 1, seeking intervention from the government. Devoleena wrote,
“My friend #Amarnathghosh was shot & killed in St Louis academy neighborhood, US on Tuesday evening. The only child in the family, the mother died 3 years back. Father passed away during his childhood.”
The actress further wrote that the reason for her death remains unrevealed. “Well the reason, accused details everything are not revealed yet, or perhaps no one left in his family to fight for it, except his few friends. He was from Kolkata. Excellent dancer, was pursuing PhD, was taking an evening walk and suddenly he was shot multiple times by an unknown.”

Devoleena Bhattacharjee’s Appeal to Government
Tagging the Embassy, the actress wrote that the bare minimum she expects is, at least they should know the reason behind his death, so hence the government could see the issue, tagging Prime Minister and Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar. “@IndianEmbassyUS kindly see to it if you could. At least we should know the reason for his murder. @DrSJaishankar @narendramodi”
Devoleena Bhattacharjee shares her Disappointment
Well in further development, the actress has revealed that she has not received any assistance yet. The comment section looked humble and concerned. People available in the location of the deceased offered help to the actress.
Replying to a comment today, the actress burst with disappointment, she wrote, “Nobody cares about it. That’s what I realized unless the person is an influential or a VVIP. The body is not yet handed over for the funeral. No updates, and no information on the murderers at all. Friends in the US are trying to raise funds for a funeral.”
