The discussion surrounding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has been fervent in the country since its notification was issued by the Central Government on March 11th. This has sparked both protests and support within the film industry. Initially, South actor Thalapathy Vijay expressed his views on the matter, followed by Kangana Ranaut, whose post on CAA has garnered significant attention.
Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram to express her support for CAA, which was accompanied by an emoji of the tricolour flag. She also shared photos of PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, indicating her endorsement of the Act.

What is CAA?
The Citizenship Amendment Act was a significant decision by the Narendra Modi government, especially preceding the Lok Sabha elections. The Act grants Indian citizenship to Hindus and Sikhs who migrated from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Pakistan without proper documentation. It was passed in both houses of parliament in 2019 and later received presidential approval. However, widespread protests erupted across the country, preventing its full implementation.

On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut was recently seen in ‘Chandramukhi 2‘ and ‘Tejas‘. This year, she will be portraying the role of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film ‘Emergency‘, featuring other notable actors such as Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, and the late actor Satish Kaushik. Additionally, she has a psychological thriller lined up for release in Hindi and Tamil languages.
