The Storyline of Lal Salaam

The storyline follows the rivalry between Vishnu Vishal’s character, Thiru, and Vikranth’s character, Shamsu, who have been adversaries since childhood. The first half of the film focuses on their village, its inhabitants, and the dynamics between Hindus and Muslims. Rajinikanth portrays the character Moideen Bhai, a Muslim leader, and delivers impactful dialogues reflecting on unity, humanity, and his identity as an Indian.

Promotion of Unity and Communal Harmony

A noteworthy scene in the movie sees Rajinikanth’s character expressing, “India is for Indians, and I am an Indian Muslim. I was born here and will die here. This is my home. We should not talk about caste or religion, but humanity, and humanity is above all. Jai Hind.” These lines resonate with the actor’s real-life emphasis on humanity over divisions.

After an eight-year break, Aishwarya Rajinikanth returned to the director’s chair for Lal Salaam, and the film features music by AR Rahman. The sports drama explores themes of rivalry, village life, and the importance of unity in contemporary India.
