The year clearly belongs to Bollywood action hero Ajay Devgan, the actor is set to dominate 2024 with multiple film releases including Raid 2, Singham Again, and the much-anticipated Maidaan, releasing on Eid, this year.
Maidaan is a biopic on footballer Syed Abdul Rahim. The film pays tribute to Rahim, the visionary behind India’s triumphs in the 1951 and 1962 Asian Games. S.A. Rahim is hailed as the architect of modern Indian football.
Maidaan Trailer Reveals
The trailer showcases the struggle of coach Syed Abdul Rahim (played by Ajay Devgan) to build a world-class football team in India at a time when nobody believes in him. The film will showcase elements like stress, doubtfulness, and the emotion of patriotism.
Despite many delays, Maidaan’s powerful trailer features Ajay’s portrayal of Rahim’s journey in building India’s football team and his desire to gain recognition for India with the help of football as the game is the most popular outdoor sport in the world.

Maidaan, Similarity With Other Films
The film depicts a few similar elements from Shahrukh Khan starrer Chak De India and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Jhund, the later featured football players began from scratch belonging to a slum area trying to prove their skill, hard work, and worth on the ground, trained by Amitabh Bachchan, among the elite team of footballers from an academy. Though the film Maidaan is based on completely different aspects it is a biopic of SA Rahim.

Team Behind the Film
Maidaan is produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Amit Ravindranath Sharma. It will explore the golden era of Indian football. The final release date of the film has yet not been revealed but it will be released around Eid, 2024. The cast of the film includes Jawan actor Priyamani as Syed Abdul Rahim’s wife and Gajraj Rao as Rudranil Ghosh.
