Randeep Hooda initially planned to enter directing later in life, but unforeseen circumstances led him to take on the role of ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.’ Initially cast as an actor, the absence of a script prompted him to write it himself with co-writer Utkarsh Naithani. Randeep then unexpectedly became the director, describing it as jumping into the deep end. Grateful for the learning experience, he acknowledges the historical and controversial nature of the film about Damodar Savarkar, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to evolve from just an actor to a writer, director, and producer.
