Aarya’s famed actress, Sushmita Sen, doesn’t plan on getting married anytime soon. In an interview with Film Companion, the actor shared that she has no intentions of settling down. Currently, she is promoting her upcoming project. Sushmita is in a relationship with model-actor Rohman Shawl.
The actress came for the interview cum promotional event along with the director Ram Madhvani for the upcoming season of the popular web series Aarya. Aarya S3 – Antim Vaar is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on February 9. It is produced by Amita Madhvani. It stars Ila Arun and Sikandar Kher.
Talking about her plans for settling in life and marriage. Sushmita said in the interview, “I know the whole world thinks I should give a damn about, at this stage at least, settling down. I don’t give a damn about it. Important to mention it’s only because I love and respect the institution of marriage. I do, very much. And I have the blessing of knowing some incredible people, including my (Aarya) director (Ram Madhvani) and my producer (Amita Madhvani), who are two of the most beautiful couples I know. But I’m a big believer in companionship, dosti (friendship). And if that exists, things can happen. But that respect and dosti is very, very important. And freedom is very, very important. So I give a damn about freedom”.
Sushmita Sen and Rohman Shawl’s Relationship
Sushmita Sen was initially in a relationship with model Rohman Shawl, whom she met on Instagram in 2018. They broke up in 2021, and Sushmita clarified on Instagram that while the relationship was over, they remained friends. After a rumoured affair with businessman Lalit Modi, Sushmita rekindled her relationship with Rohman, appearing together at various events.
Refused Many Projects
Talking about the project, Sushmita Sen said that Aarya was something she was looking for. She got many opportunities but couldn’t say yes to any until Aarya came up, and she nodded for the project. Being nayer on a jobless stage was tough for the actor. But her desire for a powerful role could not be satisfied.
On the Work Front
Sushmita delivered a compelling performance in Aarya Season 3 Part 1. The show features her as a resilient woman protecting her family from the world of crime. Aarya Season 1 was even nominated for ‘Best Drama’ at the International Emmy Awards. It was one of the most-watched dramas in 2023.
