Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the creator of the country’s Constitution, was honored with the highest civilian honor ‘Bharat Ratna’ on 31 March 1990, recognizing his invaluable contribution towards the country and society. ‘Babasaheb’ Bhimrao Ambedkar actively participated in India’s freedom struggle and continued fighting against social discrimination throughout his life.

After independence, his role became even more important, when he was entrusted with the responsibility of drafting the constitution of the nation.
