South Indian cinema icon Ajith Kumar has been making headlines recently, but this time, it’s not due to his acting career—it’s because of a terrifying incident on the racing track in Dubai. The actor, who is known for his passion for motorsports, was involved in a severe car crash during a practice session for the upcoming Dubai 24-Hour Race 2025.
Ajith, who has always been enthusiastic about sports, especially motorsports, had taken a break from acting in the early 2000s to focus on racing. His love for speed and racing continues to this day, with a history that includes participation in prestigious events such as the Asian Formula BMW Championship, British Formula 3 Championship, and even FIA Formula 2 Championship.
The shocking crash happened while Ajith was practicing on the racing track. The video, which is rapidly circulating on social media, shows his car violently colliding with a safety barrier and spinning multiple times before coming to a halt. Thankfully, Ajith was rescued immediately and transported to a hospital for precautionary medical evaluation.
In a statement from his manager, Suresh Chandra, it was confirmed that the actor emerged from the incident unscathed. Chandra assured the public, saying, “He is absolutely fine. By God’s grace, nothing happened. He is in good health and will likely return for the practice session tomorrow.”
Ajith Kumar, who owns a racing team, launched it in September last year. His involvement in motorsports is far from new, having previously competed in various national and international events, starting with motorcycle racing in the National Motorcycle Racing Championship.
Fans of the actor were initially alarmed by the graphic footage, but the news of his safety has brought relief to many.
