Shekhar Suman Joins BJP: Famous actor Shekhar Suman has unexpectedly joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), shocking the Indian political scene just days before the important Lok Sabha elections.
Anil Baluni, the national media department in charge and national general secretary Vinod Tawde welcomed Shekhar into the party at the event, which took place at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi.
A Sudden and Unexpected Decision
Talking to the media, Shekhar said, “He did not know until yesterday that he would be taking this step,” expressing his surprise at the twist of things.
“A lot of things happen in life,” he said, referring the choice to a divine calling. “Sometimes you receive guidance from above when you are unsure of what to do, and you follow it.”
After receiving praise for his performance in the Netflix series “Heeramandi,” the actor went on to discuss his newly discovered political goals, saying, “I have come here with an optimistic mindset and I want to express my gratitude to God for leading me to come here.”
Shekhar’s Political Debut and Praise for PM Modi
The leadership of the BJP has welcomed Shekhar’s debut into the world of politics. Among others, the actor mentioned how much he admired BJP leader JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speech.
“You have to commit to Lord Ram’s philosophy. Suman made reference to the Hindu nationalist philosophies of the party when he declared, “I don’t have… any negative thoughts, I am thinking only about the country.”
Radhika Khera’s Exit from Congress
At the BJP headquarters, Shekhar’s political debut was not the only important thing. On the same day, Radhika Khera, a former leader of the Congress party and national coordinator of the media wing of the party, joined the BJP.
Khera’s choice to change sides is viewed as a serious setback for the Congress party, which is already up against overwhelming opposition in the upcoming elections in the form of the BJP.

Interestingly, Shekhar suggested that the popularity of his most recent project, “Heeramandi,” had an impact on his choice to join the BJP. The actor said he felt good that the show was a “global hit,” adding that he did not want to give viewers the belief that he entered politics because he could not find work in the entertainment industry.
