In a surprising turn of events, Allu Arjun’s much-anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule has had its release date moved up by one day. Initially slated to hit theaters on December 6, 2024, the film will now premiere on December 5, 2024. The actor made this announcement via his Instagram handle, sharing a new poster of the upcoming film without a caption, simply tagging it with the hashtag “Pushpa 2 The Rule December 5.”
Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Pushpa 2 features Allu Arjun alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles. T-Series holds the music rights for the film, which is just 1.5 months away from its release. Expectations are high that this sequel will break or set new records upon its debut.
The buzz surrounding Pushpa 2 suggests it is already a blockbuster, with pre-release earnings of ₹1,085 crore. According to the makers, the theatrical rights alone were sold for ₹640 crore, alongside a major digital deal where Netflix acquired the streaming rights for ₹275 crore.
When it comes to pre-release non-theatrical rights, Pushpa 2: The Rule has raked in ₹220 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, ₹200 crore in North India, ₹50 crore in Tamil Nadu, ₹30 crore in Karnataka, ₹20 crore in Kerala, and ₹140 crore from international markets. Additionally, the film’s music rights were sold for ₹65 crore, while satellite rights fetched ₹85 crore.
