After the attack, Saif Ali Khan was immediately taken to Mumbai’s Leelavati Hospital by Bhajan Singh, who had no idea about the identity of his passenger at the time. Bhajan Singh recounted that a woman had flagged down his auto and asked him to take an injured man to the hospital. Along with the man, a young man and a child were also in the auto. Saif, who was bleeding heavily from multiple wounds, was unable to speak much, and they discussed which hospital to head to.
Despite the urgency of the situation, Bhajan Singh did not ask for any fare for the ride, a fact he later confirmed in a video.
Driver Honored with a Cash Reward
For his courageous and selfless act, Bhajan Singh was recently awarded a cash prize of ₹11,000, but interestingly, it was not from Saif Ali Khan or Kareena Kapoor’s family. The reward came from an organization that praised Bhajan Singh for his quick thinking and compassion during the emergency.
Kareena Kapoor’s Family Did Not Reach Out to the Driver
In an unexpected turn of events, Bhajan Singh shared that neither Saif nor Kareena Kapoor’s family had contacted him to thank him personally. However, his noble act did not go unnoticed, as the organization recognized his contribution to saving Saif Ali Khan’s life.
The timely intervention by Bhajan Singh may have been the critical factor in Saif’s survival, especially since a piece of the knife remained lodged in his spine, requiring immediate surgery. Had the surgery been delayed, the situation could have turned dire.
