In the midst of continued threats against Bollywood star Salman Khan, his father, Salim Khan, has sparked a fierce reaction from the Bishnoi community. During a recent interview, Salim Khan questioned why Salman should apologize, boldly claiming that neither his family nor Salman had done anything wrong, “not even killed a cockroach.”

Devendra Budhiya, the National President of Bishnoi Mahasabha, swiftly responded, calling the Khan family “dishonest.” In a direct retort, Budhiya stated, “If Salman Khan has been found guilty, how can his family assert they haven’t harmed anyone? Salman hunted in the vicinity of our village, and he was rightfully arrested by the police and forest department, spending three days in jail.”

Bishnoi President Rejects Bribery Claims

Budhiya went on to criticize Salim Khan’s denial, describing it as an affront to the Bishnoi community. “Salman’s weapon was confiscated, and he was convicted by the court. Are the police, forest department, and court all lying? The truth is on our side,” he affirmed.

In response to Salim Khan’s insinuations of extortion and bribery, Budhiya fired back, “We don’t want his corrupt money. We are hardworking individuals, dedicated to wildlife and environmental protection. Our community has sacrificed greatly—363 of us gave their lives to save trees.”

Bishnoi Community’s Call for Apology and Conservation Mission

Budhiya urged Salman Khan to visit a temple and seek forgiveness, though he acknowledged, “If he doesn’t want to apologize, that’s up to him.”

Highlighting the Bishnoi community’s longstanding commitment to conservation, Budhiya emphasized their tireless efforts to protect nature and wildlife. “We run rescue centers in our village and lose people every year in our fight to preserve trees and wildlife,” he concluded.
