Bollywood Actor Deepak Tijori Falls Victim to ₹1.74 Crore Fraud: In a shocking turn of events, Bollywood actor Deepak Tijori has been defrauded of nearly ₹1.74 crores by renowned film producer Vikram Khakhar. Tijori has filed an FIR against Khakhar at the Amboli police station in Mumbai, accusing him of financial fraud.

Details of the Fraud

According to police sources, the issue began in 2019 when Deepak Tijori was introduced to Vikram Khakhar. Tijori was in the process of creating a film named “Tipsy,” which was eventually shelved. Khakhar, claiming his strong connections in London, proposed that he could produce the film there for an estimated cost of ₹1.74 crores. Trusting Khakhar, Tijori transferred the amount to Khakhar’s company, Thought Benchers, on March 3, 2020.

Discovery of the Scam

The fraud came to light when Tijori inquired about the film’s progress and was told by Khakhar that all production activities were halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite Khakhar’s promises of resuming production after the pandemic, the film was never made. When Tijori demanded a refund of his money on March 14, 2024, Khakhar failed to provide a satisfactory response. Tijori later discovered that none of the funds had been utilized for the film, leading him to conclude that he had been duped.

Legal Action Taken

Frustrated by the lack of progress, Deepak Tijori lodged a complaint with the Amboli police on September 17, 2024. In his statement, Tijori revealed that he had persistently followed up with Khakhar from March 2020 to March 2024, only to be met with continuous delays and excuses. Realizing the extent of the fraud, Tijori sought legal redress.

Background on the Individuals Involved

Deepak Tijori is known for his roles in hit films such as “Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar,” “Kabhie Haan Kabhie Naa,” “Khiladi,” “Anjaam,” “Sadak,” “Aashiqui,” “Gulaam,” and “Faraib.” On the other hand, Vikram Khakhar is recognized for producing films like “One By Two,” “Virsa,” “Doobara,” and “Bhagya Vidhata.”

The case has captured significant media attention, and the Amboli police have initiated an investigation into the matter. Khakhar’s whereabouts are currently unknown, and authorities are actively seeking him for questioning.
