Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal’s much-anticipated historical drama Chhava has a new release date. Initially slated to hit theaters on December 6, 2024, alongside Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, the makers have now decided to postpone its release to February 14, 2025. The announcement was made by trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh on his social media handle, stating that the date holds special significance as it coincides with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birth anniversary.
The move strategically avoids a box-office clash between Chhava and Pushpa 2. Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 stars Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil, and Rashmika Mandanna. Interestingly, Rashmika plays pivotal roles in both films. By rescheduling Chhava, she avoids a situation where her two major films compete at the box office.
Taran Adarsh’s post on X (formerly Twitter) confirmed the development, highlighting the unique timing of the film’s release. However, the makers of Chhava have not disclosed the reason behind the postponement.
Initially expected to face stiff competition, the rescheduling now provides both films ample room to perform well. Pushpa 2: The Rule has already garnered immense buzz, and avoiding this clash benefits Chhava’s chances of a smoother release.
