The Humble Beginnings of Coldplay: British rock band Coldplay, known for its soulful, piano-driven music, started its journey in 1998 at University College London. The band was formed by lead vocalist and pianist Chris Martin and guitarist Jonny Buckland, later joined by bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion. Their first breakthrough came in 1999 with the single Brothers & Sisters, followed by the Grammy-winning album Parachutes (2000), featuring the iconic song Yellow.

Coldplay’s Meteoric Rise to Fame

With the release of A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), Coldplay cemented its place as a global music sensation, winning multiple Grammy Awards. Over the years, the band’s electrifying concerts and heartfelt lyrics have earned them a massive fan following worldwide, including in India.

Ahmedabad Concert: A Record-Breaking Spectacle

On January 25, Coldplay performed in Ahmedabad, drawing an unprecedented crowd of 1.34 lakh people. The concert’s craze surpassed even Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati tour. The excitement was so intense that hotels were fully booked, tickets were being sold in black, and some fans even got into physical altercations to secure entry.

27 Years Later – The Coldplay Mania Continues

Even after nearly three decades, Coldplay remains one of the most beloved bands globally. Their fanbase extends across Europe, the U.S., and Asia, with India being no exception. Chris Martin, the band’s frontman, is currently touring India and was recently seen at the Maha Kumbh with his girlfriend.
