Diljit Dosanjh’s Illuminati Tour Ends Amid Controversies: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh concluded his much-talked-about Illuminati Tour on December 31, 2024, with a concert in Ludhiana. However, the tour’s finale did not come without drama. A complaint was lodged against the singer, accusing him of promoting alcohol through his songs.

The tour, which kicked off on October 26, 2024, at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, saw Diljit performing in various cities, entertaining thousands of fans. But it also attracted its fair share of controversies, with issues arising in cities like Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh.

Chandigarh Professor Lodges Complaint

According to an ANI report, Assistant Professor Pandit Rao Dharenwar from Chandigarh filed a complaint against Diljit. The professor alleged that despite prior warnings, Diljit performed songs that glorify alcohol, albeit with minor changes to the lyrics.

Pandit Rao expressed concerns about the adverse effects such songs could have on young audiences. He questioned who would take responsibility for the negative influence on impressionable minds. Previously, notices had been issued urging the singer to avoid such songs, including those referencing “Patiala Peg” and “Panchtara Theka.”

Recurring Allegations on Alcohol Promotion

This isn’t the first time Diljit Dosanjh has faced allegations related to promoting alcohol. Earlier during the same tour, the Telangana government issued a notice restricting him from performing songs glorifying alcohol, drugs, and violence at his Hyderabad concert.

Further controversies followed:

  • The Pune concert saw a ban on serving alcohol.
  • In Indore, serving liquor or meat was prohibited at the event.
  • In Ahmedabad, the show was surrounded by protests and complaints.

Despite the setbacks, Diljit’s tour successfully entertained fans across multiple cities, but the controversies have cast a shadow on its success.
